Brown Noise for sleeping

Brown noise—also called red noise—reduces power by roughly 6 dB per octave. Its low-frequency weight creates a deep, steady sound with very little high-end hiss.

What it sounds like

It has a low, rolling character that can resemble distant surf or strong wind, but it is fully synthetic here. A leak-controlled integrator prevents the random signal from drifting without bound.

How people use it

Many listeners prefer brown noise for sleep, focused work, or masking low environmental sounds. It is a preference tool, not a treatment for insomnia, anxiety, ADHD, or tinnitus.

How it differs

Brown noise is deeper than pink noise and much warmer than white noise. On small phone speakers, the Light control can retain more audible midrange while keeping the overall character.
